The swimming pool of the Beverly Wilshire is modeled after actress Sophia Loren’s private pool in Italy, and filled with 94 years of Los Angeles history, in the heart of Beverly Hills. And while quite a few film productions have been shot at the hotel, it is the 1990 film, Pretty Woman that has made the hotel famous. Having gone through quite a few design renovations, and going through one now, the hotel’s style, a part of the Four Seasons brand, falls in line with the city’s flair for drama and Hollywood glamour.

David Collins Studio is the one behind the revamp. Throughout the hotel you see the Studio’s touch of soft pastels in the rooms, which as the hotel notes in a statement: “represents Rodeo Drive luxury, providing guests with a sanctuary of comfort. The first phase of refurbishment is done with the completion of the Beverly Wing’s guest rooms and suites. “It’s only fitting that we breathe some love and life back into her with these exciting projects,” states the hotel General Manager and Regional Vice President, Peter Humig.

As you enter the property and come up the long drive, you’re greeted with welcoming doormen. Or, if you enter off Wilshire Boulevard, the large class doors with brass detailing usher you into the lobby, which has an ornately designed marble floor. As there are two wings of the hotel, the Beverly Wing and the Wilshire Wing, both boasting luxury style in the long hallways.

The elevators take you up to one of the hundreds of guestrooms and suites- ready suites being the One-Bedroom Corner Beverly Suite, the One-Bedroom Beverly Suite, the One Bedroom Beverly Suite with View and Balcony, and the Signature Balcony Room. The already designed rooms are inspired by 1934 British interior designer Syrie Maugham’s white drawing room. David Collins Studio has been able to build a bridge between Maugham’s fashionable style and Hollywood’s 1920/30s Art Deco era, just especially for the Beverly Wilshire.

“Beverly Wilshire, is a landmark hotel, with a variety of guest room styles that have evolved over many eras. The vision created by David Collins Studio and Four Seasons brings the guest suites in line with the brand, the location and the level of luxury expected from the Hotel’s guests,” shares Creative Director Simon Rawlings, of the David Collin Studio.

All rooms come with fashionable robes and slippers, free wi-fi, an iPod for docking, and the custom Four Seasons bed, with the ability to pick pillow preferences from the pillow menu. They’re also styled with marble bathrooms that come with a grayscale color theme. The One-Bedroom Beverly Suite pours in lots of natural light with floor to ceiling windows that leads to a large balcony, and the living room can be closed off and used as a second bedroom.

The Rodeo View Studio Suite at 600 square feet is both modern and classy, and luxurious.

The Rodeo View Studio Suite at 600 square feet is a part of the updated renovation with relaxing colors of cream walls, off white drapes, and an L-shaped gray sofa with coffee table. Located in the Wilshire Wing, it’s a suite offering views of Beverly Hills’ famed Rodeo Drive, with lots of space and the sofa pulls out into a bed.

Now back to the pool again. It’s elegantly placed in the hotel. It can be reached from the second floor of the Beverly Wing. As you enter the pool area lawn chairs are spread throughout and the pool lies ahead and is more rectangular in shape. At the far end of the pool sits a fountain, with the jacuzzi adjacent to European-style pool.

The hotel offers in-room dining, spa and wellness, can arrange sightseeing tours, the Pretty Woman for a Day experience, and dining at The Blvd or Cut by Wolfgang Puck. With the new renovations and style updates that have passed, and that are still going on, coupled with the history and central location in Beverly Hills, it makes this property a must visit.
