Add a touch of sleek sophistication to your living quarters with this easy DIY fluted coffee table! On this episode of In The Know: DIY, design dynamo and DIY darling Tay BeepBoop (@taybeepboop) teaches you step-by-step how to turn a basic thrift store table into a custom fluted coffee table, transforming your space into a stylish haven worthy of a design magazine.

Tools & Materials Used

Step 1: Measure The Height Needed For Dowels

Use a tape measure to calculate the table’s height for the dowels, then mark them. Put on your safety goggles and cut the dowels using a saw.

Step 2: Assemble The Side Of The Coffee Table

Apply liquid nails along the top and bottom edges of the table’s base, then paste the dowels around the border. When gluing on the dowels, make sure they line up evenly around the base. Don’t worry about the top section of dowels being uniform, as the large circular wooden board will cover them.

Step 3: Glue The Circular Wooden Board On Top Of The Coffee Table

Apply a generous amount of liquid nails all over the surface of the coffee table, then place the circular wooden board directly on top and let dry.

Step 4: Stain The Coffee Table Finally,  grab a paintbrush and cover the coffee table with wood stain for an elegant, expensive-looking finish.
