The suspect hadn't left his house for days after the Sept. 7 crime.

More than a week after a break-in at a Butler County coffee shop, police have made an arrest.

Sean Richards has confessed to the crime, which happened on Sept. 7.

Richards had been caught on surveillance breaking into Wunderbar Coffee and Crepes in Harmony. He is facing a list of charges including burglary and theft.

According to the criminal complaint, police identified Richards using surveillance video from the shop. On Wednesday, officers went to the suspect's home and took him to the police department for questioning.

Richards stated he was at the store and saw a hiring sign in the window as well as a sign for a local concert. When he was looking at the posters, he said he noticed a jar with money on the table.

Richards then told investigators he went home to get his kids ready for bed. At some point, he "snapped or clicked" and then remembered breaking a glass window.

Richards also stated he remembered standing on the Harmony Bridge, where he had a panic attack. He told police he stayed home for several days.

Richards is currently in the Butler County prison. He was unable to make bail.
